The FDA Globalization Act of 2008is legislation that the United States Energy & Commerce Congressional Committee is drafting. This draft will be designed to provide funding and authority for the FDA in regards to food, drug and cosmetic safety but at what cost to small businesses who make soaps, lotions, and other handmade beauty and skin care products.
If this draft is passed it will impose hefty annual fees ($2,000) and reporting requirements that will just burden small businesses and eventually lead them to close their doors.
