You can get 100% lye at Lowes, it's just not drano brand.

Roebic Laboratories, Inc. 2 Lb. Heavy Duty Crystal Drain Opener
Item #: 146450 | Model #:HD-CRY-6 CRYSTAL DRA

Both the Roebic Labs site and the label say 100% lye, and I found out about it on a soapmaker board.

I guess I'll just put the draino down my drains. :(

Thank you for the information! I never would have guessed that you could use Lavender EO for burns. Next time I get burned in the kitchen, I know what to reach for.

Thanks for the info. I'm just really getting my feet wet with promoting my business with technology. I've been in the soap biz going on 4 yrs. Just started to really take it serious this past year. I began to see technology as useful. I have twitter, Facebook and a blog so far. I keep falling off of the grid with the website, but I'll keep trying.
Also, I would love to attend the transparent soap making class, but am unable to make the trip. I'm in Dallas, Tx.
Is there an e-handout I could purchase or something? I have transparent soapmaking on my to-do list for the summer along with cream soap. I find Catherine Failor's book overwhelming. 20lbs of soap for the first batch? Really? That much math makes my head hurt. I can calculate that can't wrap my head around it. I'm definitely doing Mail Chimp asap! Glad there's an app for that.!

Super reminder, La Shonda. Building your list of online contacts using an email newsletter program is critical to any business relying on the Internet for sales. Thanks for the reminder, and for linking to my post. I hope your readers are encouraged and inspired to take action!
