About the Coach

La Shonda Tyree, the Handmade Soap Coach, has been making handmade soap since 2001. Her handmade beauty and skin care company, Nyah, began in 2002 and continues to expand her business via the internet.

La Shonda Tyree and Nyah have been featured in The Network Journal, Black Hair Magazine and the Herald News; showcasing woman entrepreneurship.

She has served the handmade soap community since 2004 as a board member of the Handcrafted SoapMakers Guild in the capacity of Secretary, Marketing Chair, Conference Volunteer and Treasurer. Since ending her term as a HSMG board member she continues to remain active by volunteering on the Nominations Committee and Program and Services Committee.

As a woman entrepreneur she also served on the board of New Jersey Association of Woman Business Owners and Paterson Healthy Mother Healthy Babies a local non profit organization. She resides in Paterson, New Jersey.
